Special Projects Sub-committee
Purpose:
The purpose of the Special Projects Sub-committee is to brainstorm, investigate and develop project ideas that will further the overall objective of educating Scouts and Scouters about the wealth of flora and fauna that God has blessed us with in our environment. Several projects currently underway are:

Habitat Stewardship (NCWF)National Wildlife Federation's Wildlife Habitat Steward Program training to become a Habitat Steward. Three days of intensive training involving all aspects of a Backyard Wildlife Habitat study, establishment, and maintenance. Program volunteers will be trained to help others establish their own Backyard Habitats.
• NCWRC Scout Requirements Correlation
Cub Scout and Boy Scout requirements are correlated to Project WILD and Aquatic WILD activities. Supplements Scout leaders' planning materials and events. The current book, available through the NC Wildlife Resouces Commission is outdated due to the dynamic nature of Scout Advancement requirements. The Committee is working with NCWRC to bring the book up-to-date.
• Conservation Advisors (incl. NC EEs)
A listing of advisors qualified to act as Conservation Advisors for various projects including, but not limited to, Service Projects, advancement required projects, and various award projects such as the Hornaday Award.
