Chip currently serves as a Merit Badge Counselor for 6 of the natural science merit badges. He is an Eagle Scout with Silver and Bronze Palms, a District Award of Merit honoree, has attended the Trainer Development Course, Powderhorn, and Woodbadge courses, has served as a staff member of the '08 KODIAK Course and was on the Conservation Area Staff of the 2010 National Scout Jamboree.
